POINTS TROPHIES

Two points trophies are offered each year by the Association: the Gorse Point Trophy for the most points gained by an exhibitor over the show season and the Harold James Trophy for the most points gained by a new/novice exhibitor over the show season. The rules governing these trophies are as follows.

 

Gorse Points Trophy

(Presented to the Association in 1987 by John S Brigg, Bishop’s Gorse, Lighthorne, Warwick.)

 

At each of the shows listed above, the following points will be awarded in each class:

 

1st prize 4 points

2nd prize 3 points

3rd prize 2 points

4th prize 1 point

Where an exhibitor has more than one placed entry in a class, only the highest placed exhibit will qualify for points. No points will be awarded for group or championship prizes. The Secretary will record the points gained by each exhibitor at each show and the trophy will be presented to the exhibitor gaining most points over the season.

Harold James Trophy

(Presented to the Association in 1995 by Ann James, Banbury, Oxfordshire in memory of her father, the late Harold James of Adderbury, Banbury, Oxfordshire.)

Only exhibitors who have not previously gained a first prize at an Oxford Down show are eligible for this cup. At each of the shows listed above, the following points will be awarded in each class:

1st prize 4 points

2nd prize 3 points

3rd prize 2 points

4th prize 1 point

An exhibitor may only win the Harold James Trophy once.
